Biography

Taylor was born at 5lbs 5oz,by emergency C-section due to the cord wrapped
around her neck/legs and no amniotic fluid. She was slow to develop and starting
having grand mal status epileptus seizures when she was 1. When she was 3 she
had a stroke during her seizure affecting her left side. Her birth mother had
mono during the first trimester which caused retinal scarring, which has left
her with no peripheral vision.

Taylor has had speech, ot, and physical therapy since she was 18 months old. She
has many delays, including receptive, expressive and cognitive language skills.
She has had sensory issues affecting her eating and ability to handle loud
noices, bright lights and crowds. She has no conception of pain, which hinders
dx of different ailments. We discovered during ct scan for abdominal problems
that she only has one kidney.

Taylor has many emotional issues, due to severe anxiety and depression, which
has also hindered her development. She has difficulty maintaining friendships
due to all her symptoms and delays. She was bullied at school last year, causing
her to become suicidal, she was put on homebound schooling.

Even though Taylor has many issues to deal with she is a beautiful child with a
heart of gold. She is caring of others and loves animals.

"Thank You"

Dear Vickie and all stitchers of Taylor's quilt,

I can't thank you enough for this beautiful quilt! We watched the squares come in but we really didn't have any idea of what the quilt would look like when it was done.  Taylor is so happy and excited to have the quilt on her bed.  She has shown it off to everyone that comes over and we took it to her Grandma's so she could see it.  Everyone loves it and loves the concept of why and how this quilt is made.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this.  It has helped Taylor realize that there are lots of people out in the world that can love her for herself.  And I told her when she feels down and that nobody loves her she need only look at her quilt and see proof of all the people that love her and send her love.

We have been redoing Taylor's room into a pre/teen room.  This quilt is the finishing touch for her room.  The colors go with her room so well.  And it is something that she can use and keep forever.

Thank you again and bless all of you,

Debbie Johnson
