Biography

Sydney's big sister Madi had Dilated Cardiomyopathy, a condition in
which the heart becomes enlarged and can no longer function correctly.  It was
thought that Madi's DCM was not genetic, and she ended up requiring a heart
transplant in '09 at the age of 3.5.
Madi's doctors suggested yearly screening echos for her sister, Sydney.  It was
on one of these screening echos that Sydney was found to have the same disease.

October 14, 2011 we started Sydney on 5 different heart medications.  We will
have to go to the Mayo Clinic every two weeks or so for the foreseeable future.
Sydney will have to have frequent blood draws, echocardiograms,
electrocardiograms and chest x-rays, as well as genetic testing.
Doctors are optimistic that we will hopefully not need to go to transplant with
Sydney, but she will still need extensive medical monitoring, care, and
medication for the rest of her life.

THANK YOU

The quilts are beautiful!  The girls just love them, and they love to show them off.  They have brought great comfort to the girls, especially since they have been sick. I cannot thank you enough for what you do.  It's priceless.
