Biography

Delilah was born on February 11 2009.
Everything went well until Christmas of 2009.
She started to get sick pretty often, but after many trips to the doctor they
said everything was fine and we didn't have to worry.
We went on a trip to North Carolina because we planned on moving there (which we
end up doing). We noticed she looked more pale and then she started to have a
harder time walking.
We started going back to the doctor again, but they keep telling us don't worry
its nothing.
So we continued with our plans to move to NC.

On April 21st we took her to the doctor again because she kept having fevers,
this time they told us to go the ER and so we did.
After a lot of waiting they did a ct scan of her skull and said they think they
saw something but were not sure.
They started talking about doing an MRI scan (this was at 2am) and they started
talking about the oncologist was going to come talk to us. We kept saying we
don't need an oncologist because she does not have cancer!
They did the MRI scan and she was moved to the PICU.
The next day they gave us the devastating news that our daughter had
Neuroblastoma.
Because this was a week before our move from NY to NC, I took Delilah on a plane
(thanks to angel flight!) and we went to Duke Hospital in Durham NC.
They did a bunch more tests and she was diagnosed as Stage 4 Neuroblastoma.
She started chemo on May 7th of 2010.

She has had 7 rounds of chemo, surgery, stem cell transplant, radiation,
accutane and ch14.18 antibody treatment.
Her last scan (done in September 2011) showed several spots still lighting up
and a possible new spot.
We moved back to New York in October of 2011 to be closer to family.
It was impossible to this all by ourselves and not knowing how this is going to
end Delilah needs to be closer to her family.
Right now we are waiting for her scans which will be done at Boston Children's
hospital on December 2nd.

She is enjoying live right now she is a fighter and will continue to fight until
this horrible cancer is gone from her body!
Delilah has a 4 year (almost 5) sister named Lily, and this has been so hard for
her, seeing her sister sick all the time and Mommy always being gone. But she is
the best sister Delilah could ever ask for!
