Biography

Christopher was a 30 week premie who amazingly enough did not have to
go to the nicu at 3lbs 2oz I knew he was a fighter.  His problems started at two
weeks old when he starting projectile vomiting.  They couldn't figure out why
after NJ tubes and numerous procedures they found out he had delayed gastric
emoting where 90% of food stays in stomach after an hour he has had to be
resesitated 2 times from choking on vomit.  He spent the first year of his life
in the hospital where he was failure to thrive and placed on tpn after dropping
g down to a pound.  He had over 20 blood infections and. Ended up having
reconstruction hip surgery after finding out he had fungal osteomylitis.  He had
to wear leg braces for a year after.

In 2008 Chris started having speech issues and his health had continued to fail
he had 6 sets of ear tubes to clear up infections as well as just looking grey
his pediatrician ran some tests and found out his immune system was failing so
we immediately went to see an immune specialist who ran more tests in the mean
time we found out that he had a large subarachnoid cyst in the left temporal
lobe of his brain and immediately went in for brain surgery within a week of
surgery his immune system got worse and we found out he had common variable
immune deficiency where he undergoes weekly immunoglobin to sustain him.

Since we still struggle with infection and sickness his health just recently
started getting worse where he was losing memory vision problems. And constant
headaches a recent MRI showed his brain cyst is back so we are currently
awaiting what the Nuerosurgery will be doing.but from the sounds of it surgery
will be happening again.
