Main Diagnosis - Ewings Sarcoma
THEME: Hearts, Flowers, the word "LOVE" (purple on square somewhere)
Biography
A small mass in Caitlyn's paraspinal muscle along her spine was diagnosed as a rare form of cancer called Ewing Sarcoma. Fortunately, the malignancy is contained in this mass and is in no other area of her body. She is being treated by an excellent team at Johns Hopkins, as well as many others at the "Hop" looking out for her. Caitlyn will undergo about 17 cycles of chemotherapy, one about every 2 weeks for the next 9 months. After 6 cycles, she will have surgery to remove the initial tumor. Her doctors report that there is a 75% cure rate with initial therapy, and we fully expect Caitlyn to be in that group. A long 9 months lies ahead, but it is all for the special little girl that we affectionately call "Peanut".
